BIOMECHANICAL BIKE FITTING

HOW DOES A BIKE FITTING WORK?

The first essential piece of fitting a bike is making sure the rider is in working condition.  If the engine (you) can’t produce power through the pedals, stay relaxed on the bicycle, or cycle without pain, then how the bicycle is aligned is far less important. EVERY bike fitting session will include:

  • Comprehensive Medical and Injury Assessment

  • History on a bicycle

  • Goals for your time on 2 wheels

  • Flexibility

  • Upper and Lower body Strength

  • Core muscle endurance

  • Movement pattern screening

  • Pain and provocations tests

Then on to the bicycle!

  • Full baseline measurements (and how you are starting there!)

  • Component safety check

  • Quick fit analysis - are you on the right bicycle (size, components)

  • Assessment of optimal rider angles

  • Cleat positioning / adjustment

  • Saddle positioning

  • Grip / handlebar / shifter optimization

  • Test ride

  • New measurements for your records

We will take all these into pieces into account when dialing in your bike fit, whether from a nagging overuse problem, chronic discomfort in the neck, shoulders or back from longer rides, recovery from a crash, or ????????
