TELEHEALTH

WHY CHOOSE TELEHEALTH?

Modern (secure) technologies such as video conferencing (i.e. Zoom) are becoming more widely adopted and are removing barriers for those in need of healthcare outside the traditional clinic. In 2020, over 50% of PTs worked with a client virtually. Telehealth can be an excellent option, whether you have a symptom flare up while on vacation or a pandemic limits your in-person options. In addition, an ergonomic assessment of your home or work environment can also be a great telehealth option. A virtual ergonomic evaluation serves to allow your therapist to better advise you on remedies for symptoms or greater comfort due to repetitive strain situations, while in your typical environment.

WHAT OUR TELEHEALTH VISIT OFFERS:

  • Assessment from an expert physical therapist

  • Real-time feedback to your questions or problems

  • Injury management consultation- get realistic options to immediately help you on your path to recovery

  • Convenience: You get to save time on your calendar and in the car (freedom from traffic)!

  • Safety: many of our clients converted to the virtual option due to high-risk family members.

WHAT TYPES OF PHYSICAL THERAPY APPOINTMENTS CAN I SCHEDULE WITH A TELEHEALTH VISIT?

  • Acute or Chronic injury assessments and consulting

  • Pain management

  • Bike Fittings

  • Running Gait Analysis

  • Work or Home-office Ergonomics

HOW CAN I SCHEDULE A TELEHEALTH VISIT?

Our website has scheduling instructions for telehealth visits for established clients. If you are thinking about scheduling a virtual session, we would love for you to fill out an Availability Inquiry form on our website or feel free to call the clinic to discuss what may be the best option for you.

TO MAKE THE MOST OUT OF YOUR ONLINE APPOINTMENT

  • Make sure you check that you receive our link prior to the appointment time. The link will have you download Zoom if haven’t already

  • Check that you have a good internet connection and log on a couple minutes before the session starts

  • Find a place with minimal noise or distractions, but sufficient lighting and space

  • Wear comfortable clothing for your PT’s evaluation and possible exercise instructions

  • Your PT may ask that you adjust your video position, so they can fully observe your environment or your exercise technique

WHAT IF I NEED AN APPOINTMENT AND NEED TO SEE MY THERAPIST IN-PERSON?

Sometimes, patients would be best served with an in-person treatment session. We take COVID risk reduction very seriously. As of now (September 2022), we are still masked, our staff is 100% vaccinated and all clients are required to wear masks as well (which we will provide if you forgot yours!). As always, we are one-on-one, so very few people are in the office at any given time. We thoroughly clean any contact surfaces between patients and have UV filters in every treatment room for additional risk reduction.
