RESTING METABOLIC RATE TESTING

WHAT IS RESTING METABOLIC RATE TESTING (RMR)?

Your resting metabolic rate (RMR) is the number of calories your body needs each day just to stay alive—supporting basic functions like breathing, circulation, and recovery.

This number is the foundation for:

  • Weight loss

  • Weight gain

  • Performance

  • Energy levels

  • Recovery

Without knowing it, you’re just guessing.

HOW DOES METABOLIC TESTING WORK?

This test is simple, non-invasive, and designed to be as relaxed as possible.

Here’s what to expect:

  • We start with a quick explanation of the process so you feel comfortable

  • You’ll sit or lie down in a relaxed position

  • Your nose will be gently clipped, and you’ll breathe into a tube for about 20 minutes

  • The system measures how much oxygen you use to calculate your metabolism

  • Afterward, we’ll walk through your results together and explain exactly what they mean for you

No workouts. No stress. Just breathing.

BENEFITS OF METABOLIC TESTING

Many people are under-fueling, over-fueling, or simply misinformed about what their body needs.

RMR testing helps you:

  • Know exactly how many calories you need to maintain, lose, or gain weight

  • Improve energy levels and reduce fatigue

  • Avoid chronic under-eating (especially common in active individuals)

  • Support better recovery and injury resilience

  • Take the guesswork out of nutrition

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM METABOLIC TESTING?

  • People struggling with low energy or fatigue

  • Those who feel like they’re doing everything right but still feel “off”

  • Individuals trying to lose or gain weight

  • Athletes who may be under-fueling

  • Clients dealing with frequent injuries or poor recovery

This is for anyone who wants clarity around their nutrition.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR TEST?

  • For the most accurate results:

  • Avoid caffeine or stimulants for 4 hours before your test

  • Do not eat or drink (except water) for 4 hours prior

  • Avoid exercise or heavy activity beforehand

  • Wear comfortable clothing

  • For best results, schedule your test in the morning and come in fasted
